Joose Keskitalo
Finnish-born Joose Keskitalo is regarded as one of the most original contemporary singer-songwriters in Finland. A prolific songwriter who has published music in Finland since 2004, being involved in projects like the psychedelic folk collective Paavoharju. Joose Keskitalo experiments with forms and stories found in Francis Child's collection of ballads and Shakespeare's history plays, notions of Alchemy and other old traditions with a strange Outsider Folk feel to it. Be prepared to hear stories about selling your soul to the devil, King Henry IV, the peasant's revolt and old Greek mythology. The music ranges from traditional folk to Jethro Tullish blues rock. Joose Keskitalo has published 15 albums, of which three are in English: New Songs for Old Motifs (2021) Oh, Our Slow Designs (2023) Cursed Be Those Mariners (2026). Joose Keskitalo (guitar, vocals, flute and violin) is accompanied by Ville Linna (banjo, weissenborn, home-made string instruments and backing vocals) and Eero Tikkanen (Double Bass and backing vocals) https://www.facebook.com/joosekeskitalo/
