Weekly Newsletter - w/c Monday 9 March

It's a fresh week in Leeds, and the city's live music scene is buzzing with activity. Whether you're after some well-loved indie anthems, a dose of gritty punk, or something a bit more experimental, there's plenty to get stuck into.

This Week's Gig Highlights

Kicking things off early in the week, if you're looking for some solid rock, The Vaccines are heading to the O2 Academy Leeds on Monday. For those who prefer their evenings a little more intimate, Seamus Fogarty brings his folk-tinged indie to Hyde Park Book Club on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, you can catch the raucous sounds of Mt. MISERY + HUMDRUM (USA) + O_RLLY at The Lending Room, promising a night of energetic indie.

Midweek sees a bit of everything. Wednesday offers a chance to catch the genre-bending TOAST CLUB at Hyde Park Book Club, blending jazz, funk, and electronic textures. For a heavier dose of sound, BODYSNATCHER & INGESTED are at The Key Club, while Dub Pistols & Freestylers bring their distinctive sound to the Brudenell Social Club.

Thursday is looking particularly interesting. The Utopiates are celebrating the release of their new album at Hyde Park Book Club, bringing their indie-electronic grooves to town. If you're feeling nostalgic, Chesney Hawkes will be at the Brudenell Social Club, and for a taste of something different, the Belgrave Music Hall is hosting a Mandopop Golden Hits Night.

The weekend is shaping up nicely too. Friday sees the return of Jim Bob to the Brudenell Social Club for a night of Carter bangers and jokes, alongside the soulful sounds of SMOOVE & TURRELL at the same venue. Over at Hyde Park Book Club, Bold as Brass is bringing a mix of jazz, funk, soul, and more for what promises to be a joyous night.

Saturday is packed with options. For a touch of 90s nostalgia, Happy Mondays are celebrating their anniversary at the O2 Academy Leeds. Over at Project House, ARMAND HAMMER are set to deliver a historic hip-hop performance. And if you're after something a bit more indie, Lime Garden are playing at Hyde Park Book Club.

Just Announced

Looking ahead, there are some cracking shows hitting the announcement boards. Get ready for some classic rock as Del Amitri are set to play the O2 Academy Leeds on Monday 9th November 2026. If you're a fan of the more indie-leaning sounds, mark your calendars for THE PRIMITIVES at Hyde Park Book Club on Friday 2nd October 2026. And for something a bit more unique, Kelley Stoltz will be gracing the stage at Hyde Park Book Club on Sunday 18th October 2026. Keep an eye out for these and more as they drop!

This week is a fantastic reminder of the sheer variety of live music on offer in Leeds. Get out there, support your local venues, and catch some brilliant performances.
