Alright music lovers, welcome back! The New Year's resolutions are fading, the post-holiday blues are lifting, and the Leeds gig scene is already kicking into gear. Get ready for another week of sonic adventures!
Upcoming Events
This week's lineup is a bit of a mixed bag, but that's what makes Leeds so great, isn't it? Let's dive in.
For the guitar enthusiasts, Northern Guitars is your spot this week. They're hosting their regular Open Mic on Monday, perfect for showcasing your own tunes or just enjoying the talent. And don't forget the Jam Night on Tuesday – a chance to get together and make some music. Later in the week, they have a set from Isla Mae on Wednesday, playing a mix of originals and covers. If you're looking for more guitar action, Nik Svarc will be at Northern Guitars on Thursday, showcasing his looping skills.
Wednesday night is shaping up to be a busy one. If you're looking for something a bit different, head over to Hyde Park Book Club to see Shades Collective & Friends, a collective of Leeds' finest putting on one last show. You can also catch Liam Price at The Key Club or Katie Heap at The Domino Club.
Thursday night features some interesting options. The LEEDS LOVE MUSIC HATE RACISM BENEFIT GIG at Hyde Park Book Club is one to support, with proceeds going to Love Music Hate Racism and Stand Up To Racism. The Chemic Tavern is hosting Noah Hassler - Forest with Evan Davies & Sam Quintana, a trio bringing together bluegrass, jazz and classical music. If you're looking for something more traditional, head to The Domino Club for The Jake Leg Jug Band, or Duck & Drake for Night & Dave + Rory Holl (Solo).
Friday, get ready for a diverse mix of sounds. TVOD, a rowdy Brooklyn-based six-piece, will be at Oporto. Brudenell Social Club will be hosting HIGHER POWER and The Key Club will have Annisokay playing. For something a little different, Johnny D and The Space Cadets & The Spiratones are at Northern Guitars.
Saturday brings us to the weekend, with more great shows. Nearly Dan will be at Brudenell Social Club. The O2 Academy has Southmartins, The and The Smyths are at The Old Woollen. Arc of Triumph will be at Hyde Park Book Club. Northern Guitars is hosting Jacob and Friends and Rachel Walls & Jenny Cole.
Sunday closes things out with Dust at Oporto and Filtered Vol.1 at Hyde Park Book Club.
