Leeds Gig Guide Weekly - January 9th, 2026

Hello, music lovers! Another week, another chance to dive headfirst into the Leeds live music scene. This week's looking packed, with something for everyone, from raucous rock shows to intimate acoustic nights. Let's get stuck in!

Saturday Night Fever (and More!)

Saturday night's shaping up to be a real mixed bag. If you're after a dose of nostalgia, head over to Bowie's 79th Birthday Discotheque at The Old Woollen. For those who want something a bit different, Unmarry Me are playing at Wharf Chambers bringing some lo-fi post-punk. For the metalheads, Tripwire and Sair are playing at Hyde Park Book Club. And if you're feeling like a bit of a singalong, you can catch Live/wire at the Brudenell, or Endorphinmachine at the same venue.

Sunday Sounds

Sunday offers a more chilled vibe. At Hyde Park Book Club, Survivor Solidarity is hosting a gig in collaboration with Survivors West Yorkshire, with all ticket proceeds going to charity. A great way to enjoy some music and support a worthy cause. Elsewhere, Northern Guitars hosts David Shaw & Unity Shrimpton, offering a mix of comedy-infused storytelling and emotive songwriting.

Midweek Melodies

The mid-week scene is looking strong. Monday sees Lilian at the Grove Inn, a singer/storyteller of traditional folk and fairytales. Wednesday, make your way to Northern Guitars for Isla Mae, where she'll be playing a range of originals and covers. If you're feeling a bit more raucous, head over to the Brudenell for Dry Cleaning.

Thursday's Treats and Friday's Finishes

Thursday has a great folk night with Noah Hassler - Forest with Evan Davies & Sam Quintana at the Chemic Tavern. Friday offers a range of options, including TVOD at Oporto and Bold as Brass at Hyde Park Book Club, promising a night of Jazz, Funk, Soul, and more.
