Manuka Hive - The debut hometown show
A glittery explosion carved out in the depths of Leeds. A cosmic symphony of rock and roll blasted through every available string.
FFO: Tom Petty, Phil Lynott, Fleetwood Mac, Father John Misty, David Bowie, Billy Corgan, The Smashing Pumpkins.
Formed in Islington's New Rose pub - a bar named after UK punk pioneers The Damned's 1976 single - the five piece are just as influenced by West Coasts psyche, classic rock and atmospheric sound groups like The 13th Floor Elevators, and The Seeds as English songwriters. It's a very fuzzy garage rock reverb sound, but with an English twist - especially lyrically.
From British Indie to raw American Blues, "gloriously guitar-heavy," and rumbling with subterranean rock; FloodHounds are a swirling explosion of bluesy fire, tearing its way through the UK's packed and sweaty music venues. Sheffield 3-piece FloodHounds' hits you like a British Black Keys or White Stripes, inspired by the likes of Band of Skulls, or Drenge with just a hint of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Dreamy London quartet creating swooning and sonic dream pop with iridescent guitars.
FFO: Arcade Fire, The Verve
